Calumet County Dive Team |
Muscular Dystrophy Association |

An initial goal for the foundation was to raise money to assist in the formation of the Calumet County Dive Team. This charity is very near and dear to our heart because Savannah and her father may still be with us if rescue divers were available. The nearest dive team was almost an hour from the Quinney Harbor on Lake Winnebago where the accident occurred.
A local citizen (Joe Nelson) recognized the fact that 2 lives could have been saved and decided to make the initial donation of $7,000.00 (enough to train and equip one diver). Immediately our board went to work on fundraising ideas and decided to commit to this effort until they are full funded and operational.
At any given time during the annual sturgeon fishing season on Lake Winnebago, 10,000 people can be on the ice with a majority of them on the east shore from High Cliff south to Brothertown. The implementation of this dive team assures a 5 min response to the lake all year long with divers on call 24/7. The Calumet County Dive Team members are volunteers from the 20 volunteer fire departments throughout Calumet County. These men and women are currently First Responders, EMT’s and Firefighters. They exemplify the pay it forward concept by doing something that someone could not do on their own with no expectation of receiving anything in return.
To date S.P.I.F.F. has raised and donated over $20,000.000 to the Calumet County Dive Team. More help is needed. There is over 20 more divers to be trained and equipped to be able to provide the 24/7 protection needed on the east shore of Lake Winnebago. If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to the Calumet County Dive Team Please send a check made payable to S.P.I.F.F and put Calumet Co. Dive Team on the memo. Mail your donation to P.O. Box 95, St. Nazianz, WI 54232. If you cannot donate directly you can assist us in our fundraising efforts for the dive team by attending and/or volunteering for our events.

S.P.I.F.F. board members and volunteers participated in the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon by answering phones and collecting donations in 2009. Since the downsizing of the telethon we have not gotten a chance to go back to the phones but we recognize this a viable charity for you to donate to. Many children in NE Wisconsin benefit from the MDA summer camp and the could not attend this life changing camp without your help!
